Exceeding Expectations Everyday

Flood Control Engineering
AIMS GROUP'S engineers have more than 100 years of combined experience in coastal restoration, hurricane protection, hydraulics and hydrology (H&H) engineering, structural engineering, general engineering, construction oversight, and project management projects in southeast Louisiana. Our personnel have worked on various coastal projects involving design, construction management, construction administration, alternative studies, and cost estimating. The types of projects that our team has worked on are as follows:

-
Pump station design – Design, construction administration, construction management, alternative studies.
-
Levee design – Design, construction administration, construction management, alternative studies, earthen levee’s, levee lifts, T-wall construction and resident inspection.
-
Drainage improvements/studies - Design, construction administration, construction management, alternative studies, resident inspection.
-
Coastal restoration – Design, construction administration, construction management, alternative studies, marsh creation, land bridge restoration and vegetative ridge creation.
-
Structural foundations/structures - Design, construction administration, construction management, alternative studies, resident inspection.
-
Levee periodic inspections – data manipulation and analysis with GPS software, report preparation and presentation of results. Personnel have been designated as Certified Levee Inspectors by the State of Louisiana. AIMS personnel have performed more periodic levee inspections for the USACE than any other firm in the region – over 900 miles of levee inspection.
AIMS has received the ACASS ratings of VERY GOOD from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for all of its projects during the past 7 years – receiving a Certificate of Appreciation on February 6, 2012 from the USACE – New Orleans District for its exceptional achievements in support and work on the Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System. AIMS GROUP has completed more than 20 sizeable Hurricane Protection Projects for various local, state and federal governmental agencies and is experienced with the Louisiana Coastal Master Plan.
The AIMS team offers the following distinct advantages for flood protection and coastal projects:
1. The ability to plan, design and enable sustainable coastal projects. Our team of coastal engineers and designers has the required experience to model, evaluate, and design projects that will exceed expectations.
2. The ability to immediately respond to clients’ needs. We have consistently demonstrated the capacity to quickly execute any coastal projects a client may have.
3. An integrated approach to science and engineering. AIMS believes that the best way to make sure that a project functions as intended, particularly for restoration projects, is to ensure that our engineers and scientists work collaboratively from project inception through completion and monitoring. This allows early integration of environmental and scientific requirements into the overall project planning that ensures there are no new requirements that emerge as a project moves into design and construction – keeping the project on time and within budget.
4. A local commitment to Louisiana and its engineering community. The AIMS team is comprised of local engineers who all live and work in coastal Louisiana. Our team has a complete understanding of the physical environment and engineering practices locally and in Louisiana.
